Immersion Learning

Speakers: Valerie Noll and Larry Straining

Attendees will have the opportunity to win two tickets (valued at $975 each) to the Leadership Presentation and Image Skills Conference, a 2-day program provided by Dardis  Communications.

Immersion Learning is delivering training and participating in 3D virtual worlds where one takes on an avatar to represent themselves. This presentation is the result of a 6-month project using World of Warcraft® and other tools to develop and deliver training initially focusing on leadership and teamwork; however, many other topics evolved from the project. Participants in the project consisted of trainers from all over the United States who all had a desire to learn about and bring training into the 3D virtual environment.

In this session we will:

  • Examine uses of Immersion Learning in existing situations.
  • Evaluate the potential of Immersion Learning for incorporation in your organization.
  • Create a personal action plan to explore Immersion Learning opportunities.

The tangible tools that will be provided to the participants for implementation within their organization:

  • Assessment tool to evaluate whether Immersion Learning is suitable in the participant’s organization.
  • Personal action plan for exploring and learning more about Immersion Learning opportunities.
  • A list of articles and websites for further reading.
  • If desired, the information necessary to find and join our World of Warcraft group.
