Critical Survival Skills for Trainers
Presented by Jonathan Halls

Johnathan Halls

If you were unable to attend ASTD's International Conference and Exposition (ICE) in Orlando last May, here is your chance to meet one of the ICE presenters at a special bonus evening learning event brought to you bythe ASTD-Lincoln Chapter.

This member appreciation learning event has a special price, too: free for ASTD-Lincoln members and reciprocal partners! We are also offering this learning event at a very special rate for non-members, too, for an opportunity to sample the benefit of ASTD-Lincoln chapter programming.

Join us for a casual dinner, networking, and the opportunity to hear from an international expert. Participants will also be eligible for door prizes. This will be a unique opportunity to consider your own professional development in light of future trends in the learning and development field.

Do you have the critical survival skills?

Critical Survival Skills for Trainers

What are you doing to ensure you'll have a professional edge in the workplace learning profession over the next 10 to 15 years? What emergent patterns in organizational life are influencing how you invest in your own personal development?

Many of the traditional skill sets of the profession were structured to meet the demands of an industrial environment predicated on predictability and control.

That environment is fading as once-stable workplaces morph into hotbeds of constant change, generational differences, international migration, global communications, technological innovation, and diverse social attitudes. Much of what you learned about adult education needs to be refocused to deliver exceptional value in a post-industrial environment.

Participants will receive a questionnaire that helps them identify the areas they can work on to create their future. This presentation is based on a session delivered by Jonathan Halls with Madeline Finndety at ASTD's International Conference & Expo in Orlando in May 2011 and is the subject of ongoing collaborative research which will culminate in a book.

This presentation will uncover some of the underlying trends in the changes we are seeing in our professional world. It will help you identify how to evolve your skills for professional survival as a workplace learning practitioner.
