ASTD Nebraska presents:
Presenter: Dr. Karen Lisko
October 9th - 7:30am-11:00am Scott Center
The program portion of this session speaks to communication we encounter and practice on a daily basis. You must first be aware of your own communication foibles before you can be motivated to work toward more effective communication improvements. The intent is to help each of us see ourselves in the communication behaviors we will discuss.
Dr. Lisko will identify discrete communication traits across a continuum of detrimental behaviors and beneficial behaviors, and provide practical recommendations for replacing the detrimental behaviors with more effective ones. Because very specific behaviors will be discussed, you can immediately apply even small changes right away. Continued practice of beneficial behaviors has demonstrated stronger persuasive and credible communications in meetings or impromptu settings.
Continue the practice and obtain a simple formula for handling impromptu speaking situations by participating in the workshop immediately following the program. In the workshop you will have ample opportunity to demonstrate learned techniques and engage in open-ended questions with Karen.
