Thirteen years ago, I became a member of ATD Nebraska. This year I am honored to be serving as your ATD Nebraska Chapter President. I attribute ATD Nebraska for creating a lasting impact on my career from the networking, connections, and knowledge I have gained along the way.
-Martin Luther King, Jr.
At an early age, I realized that I enjoyed teaching and had a passion for learning. For many years, I was a dance teacher. I eventually transitioned that passion from teaching children to teaching adults and promoting lifelong learning. This passion continues today as we use a ‘big picture’ lens to help our members understand what ATD Nebraska can do for them.
As a professional in the field of Talent Development, you focus much of your time ‘doing for others’. ATD Nebraska is here to ‘do’ for you! The ATD Nebraska chapter works to bring workshops, tools, resources and the network needed to enhance our members’ abilities to train, develop, and support their customers. We do this through our monthly programs, Trainer’s Institute, regular communication through diverse channels, plus many members only benefits such as resume reviews, mock interviews, consultant page, member directory, member meet ups, scholarships, job postings, volunteer opportunities, and CPLP certification study groups.
What can we do to improve the big picture? This chapter is here to serve you, so please reach out and let us know what you need to be successful. I invite you all to become more involved and engage in the big picture of ATD Nebraska. There are many ways to do that: attend programs and activities, actively work to increase your network with experts in the field, use the services available to our members, join the conversations on our social media, or become a volunteer on a committee or member of the board. Wherever you are on your career path, or whatever you are ‘doing for others’, I hope you find as much value and benefit in this great chapter as I do.
